“Ports Authority” and ” Global Clearinghouse Systems ” launch the electronic platform for container management at Shuaiba Port(GTAP)

In collaboration with Global Clearing House Systems, Kuwait Ports Authority General Manager, Sheikh Yousef Al-Abdullah, inaugurated the Global Terminal Automation Platform (GTAP) in Shuaiba Port. The launch aims to achieve the policies and directions of the Port Authority to provide outstanding services through sophisticated and specialized technological platforms to easily carry out shipping operations to contribute to the economic and commercial growth of Kuwait.

On this occasion, Al-Abdullah explained that the platform aims to establish pillars to regulate the planning processes in Shuaiba Port and to provide support to the Port Authority in its pursuit to achieve the requirements of comprehensive development and revenue development. In addition, the platform serves the logistics operations to upgrade the level of services offered.

Al-Abdullah noted that the new system has multiple advantages as well as its ease of use through information technology in managing the unloading, distribution and storage of containers. In addition, the system achieves the optimum use of loading and unloading equipment and storage, which increases the accommodation capacity of the station, the trading rates, the control of the receipt and delivery movement through the gates, as well as the available capabilities in exchanging information with agents using the Electronic Data Interchange «EDI» with International standard specifications. The system also supports the function of executing commands automatically without human intervention due to the availability of modern processors and advanced networks in tandem with the accelerated growth of technology “.
